  9. Over  the  years,pd houses have come and go,but what one around today is
  10. the best in terms of availability,price,delivery and friendlyness?  Here
  11. is  a  evaluation of the pd houses I've ordered from,with their problems
  12. and good points all laid out for you.  I would advise all pd programmers
  13. to  read  this  as  one  company  is  conning  everyone  (guyz at lsd in
  14. particular).

  18. This  is  the  company  that the dudes from lsd and any other programmer
  19. should  complain  to,now  on the front of every issue of this clasic mag
  20. there is a notice aimed to pd houses saying that it must NOT be sold for
  21. more than £2.40 I think,anyway while searching through their catalogue I
  22. spotted  grapevine  (and  why not?) but was horrified to learn that they
  23. charge  £9.50  for  the 3 disk issue,thats three pounds per disk!!  they
  24. had  a  slideshow from bad boyz that was 10 disks,thats 30 quid!!!!  The
  25. prices  go  down  after 10 disks but only to about £2.50 each,I strongly
  26. advise  programmers  to  complain  as  they`re  breaking  a  contract or
  27. agreement between you and them, I hope I've been of some help to you who
  28. didn`t know this.

  40. Quite  a  good company but the problem I had was when I submitted a disk
  41. mag  I created,it was my first attempt at doing something like this as I
  42. have  no programming experience,they rejected my mag on the grounds that
  43. the  quality  wasn`t  of  a high enough standard,it doesn`t matter about
  44. that its the information (which was really good in my opinion), I've now
  45. done  a  better version and wont be submitting it to 17 bit as pd doesnt
  46. really  need to be lavishly presented,sure the graphics help but I think
  47. its  the quality of the articles that matter, I've had games from 17 bit
  48. that  are totally crap,with pathetic graphics etc,but they still sell it
  49. anyway!  nevermind on with the eval..

  61. I  was  unsure  of this company as it was advertised with a really small
  62. advert,and  chances  are  that these companys will go bust or close down
  63. and  keep  your  cash,but luckily there still are some nice guyz in life
  64. and online pd are some of them.

  76. Another  small advert,but just like online were a genuine company,really
  77. I've saved the best for last, I've ordered many times from kt`s and have
  78. now  got  to know the owner,the friendlyness is superb as you feel as if
  79. you`re  talking someone who understands what you want,at the right price
  80. and  with no hanging about,this was in fact the case as john (the owner)
  81. was  just  like me and you who collected pd and oneday had so much of it
  82. decided to open up his own company.  Kt`s I suppose is not a ordinary pd
  83. house  as  its  also  johns  home,and  works  untill  2-3 in the morning
  84. (ouch!),speed  of  the service is also to be recommended as no sooner as
  85. you`ve sent the cheque off the parcels arrived (no kidding!).

  94. Incidently,both  kt`s and online pd have accepted my disk mag,two of the
  95. best companys I think and they deserved it too!

  98. [You are not biased then?  I've had no dealing's with PD companies other
  99. than  a  call from one about Phreaking Only and The WORD.  Sadeness used
  100. to  deal with NFA but as they are few (5) and thinking of changing their
  101. name,  Carnage  are  now  the  WORD  staff,  with  Budda  giving  me the
  102. occasional  "Hi  Kei,  here's  some articles".  A few PD company's carry
  103. Carnage's PD software without every contacting us which is ok as long as
  104. they  don't  rip off their customers.  You can always get it from us for
  105. next  to  nothing  (51p  which  includes  a disk and return postage as I
  106. recall).   Iceman  is  the  crew  member  that chats to the PD companies
  107. though  so  my  knowledge  of them is limited.  Someone should do a more
  108. thorough review of them though as it's long overdue.  Kei]
